REMINDER – Annual General Meeting – FRIDAY 23 March 21, 2018

Dear Members:

On behalf of the President and Council of the Law Association, I would like to remind you that the ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING of the Law Association of Trinidad & Tobago will be convened on FRIDAY 23 MARCH at the following venues at 3.00 p.m.:

POS – Convocation Hall, Hall of Justice;

SAN FERNANDO – Southern Academy for Performing Arts; and

TOBAGO – The Conference Room, Division of Food Production, Montessori Drive, Glen Road, Scarborough, Tobago

To transact the following business:

  1. To confirm the following persons as Officers of the Association, unopposed
    Douglas Mendes SC – President
    Theresa Hadad – Treasurer
  2. To hold elections for the positions of Vice President
    Rajiv Persad
    Patricia Dindyal
  3. To hold elections for the positions of ten (10) Senior Ordinary Members of the Council from among the following candidates:
    Darrell Allahar
    Elena Araujo
    Ronnie Bissessar
    Reeyah Chattergoon
    Frederick Gilkes
    Elton Prescott SC
    Andrew Rahaman
    Dinesh Rambally
    Lynette Seebaran-Suite
    Richard Sirjoo
    Jason Nathu
  4. To hold elections for the positions of five (5) Junior Ordinary Members of the Council from among the following candidates:

    Ajay S.M. Baball
    Shankar Bidaisee
    Trevor Clarke
    Elena Da Silva
    Saira Lakhan
    Kimberleigh Peterson
    Marissa Ciara Ramsoondar

  5. To consider and adopt the Report of the 31st Council on the activities of the Law Association of Trinidad and Tobago for the period  2017/2018;
  6. To consider and adopt the Annual Financial Statements of the Law Association and the Auditors’ Report thereon for the period February 1st 2017 to January 31st 2018;
  7. To receive the Annual Financial Statements of the Compensation Fund and the Auditors’ Report thereon for the period February 1st 2017 to January 31st 2018;
  8. To appoint an Auditor for the Law Association for the reporting period 1st February, 2018 to 31st January, 2019;
  9. Any other business.

Please note that only those practitioner members who hold a valid practicing certificate for the law term 2017-2018 or who produce a receipt for the 2017-2018 law term with a 2016-2017 practicing certificate can attend and vote at the Meeting.
