Further to the update sent to you on 22nd February 2018 concerning the allegations made against the Honourable Chief Justice, I now attach for your information copies of the pre-action protocol letter served on the Law Association and the Association’s response thereto delivered this morning to Attorneys at law for the Honourable Chief Justice.

Council decided to make these documents available to you because we take the view that you are entitled to know why your Association is being sued and your Association’s defence thereto and because the Honourable Chief Justice’s proposed challenge has sparked debate about the legality of LATT’s enquiry and potential reference under section 137, and you ought to be made aware of Council’s views on that question. The same applies to the allegation of bias.
